My name is Owen, and yes, I’m a survivor of severe anxiety disorder. And one thing I found out, as I’m sure you have, is that only a person who is experiencing – or HAS experienced – anxiety or panic disorder can possibly understand what you’re going through.

No one else can even vaguely fathom what it feels like. The people whose jobs are to help us – doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists,  counselors – are little or no help to us. In fact, I’ve found that many health care professionals have a hard time even giving us any SYMPATHY! They just think we’re nuts.

Physicians and psychiatrists want to treat anxiety disorder like it’s a medical condition or a mental disease, by prescribing medicines that can’t cure it and sometimes actually do more harm than good. 

Psychologists and some counselors want to search for childhood problems and traumas and all that does – if those problems existed and contributed to your anxiety – is make you focus on the very things that caused your trouble! If you’re anything like me and most other sufferers, focusing on the things that make you anxious just makes the symptoms worse! And these professional people don’t understand that, either!

The Question Is:

So, what are you supposed to do if the professional people can’t help you? Who do you turn to if your doctor or shrink doesn’t understand your problem and can’t fix it?

The Answer:

It’s simple, really. You learn from those who have recovered just how they did it. Yes, it can be done – without doctors, meds, etc.
